PayLease Adds Ezra Levine to its Board of Directors

PayLease, a leading online payments provider for the property management and HOA industry, today announced that Ezra Levine, a recognized expert in the area of funds transmission and anti-money laundering regulation, has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Levine’s extensive knowledge on compliance within the payments industry will help guide PayLease’s business decisions and strategic direction.

Mr. Levine recently retired as Senior of Counsel at Morrison & Foerster in Washington D.C. Previously, he was a partner at Howrey LLP from 1980-2011. He has held a variety of senior legal and policy positions with the U.S. Government, including the Executive Office of the President relating to economic regulation of the energy industry. Most notably, Mr. Levine is the author of money transmitter licensing laws in many states and served as a member of the U.S. Treasury’s Bank Secrecy Act Advisory Group, which counsels the Secretary of the Treasury on implementation of the Bank Secrecy Act, the country’s primary anti-money laundering law. He is a frequent lecturer on legal issues affecting money transmitters and testifies before state legislatures and congressional committees with regard to state money transmission licensing laws, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing measures.

“I’m honored to join PayLease during its period of tremendous growth and its success within the payments industry,” remarked Levine. “PayLease is poised for great accomplishments in the coming years and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of its journey,” he added.

The appointment of Mr. Levine signifies yet another milestone in PayLease’s commitment to compliance and security. For years, PayLease has undergone rigorous audits to achieve PCI Level 1 Compliance – the highest security certification given to organizations that process card payments. In addition, Pete Ziverts, former senior compliance executive at Western Union, was hired as Chief Compliance Officer in 2013 to oversee the numerous legal and regulatory requirements of PayLease’s business.

“Ezra is one of the most respected people in the regulatory compliance and payments industries and is an excellent addition to our Board,” said Pete Ziverts, Chief Compliance Officer at PayLease. “His deep expertise will be a great asset to me in my role and to the company as a whole.”
