How does Zego work with LevelCredit?

All rent payments made through the Zego platform, after opting into LevelCredit Reporting, (i.e. online via credit card, debit card, ACH, PayPal, CashPay, Check Scanning) will be reported to the credit bureaus by LevelCredit once you have opted in to the service.

Are other payments, like utilities, reported?

Not at this time. We will be offering utility reporting in the future. Please stay tuned.

Are cash payments reported?

Cash payments made through the Zego CashPay solution are reported. Cash payments made outside of the Zego platform are not.

What is the benefit of LevelCredit Reporting?

LevelCredit Reporting can help you build credit history and improve your credit score when you make a rent payment.

How does this help my credit?

When your rent payment is reported to major credit bureaus, it shows up on your credit report as a new tradeline with positive information. A tradeline is simply another name for an open account on your credit report. Having that additional tradeline on your report can affect your credit score since more positive payment data can be used to calculate your score. The impact is largest for those with no credit or a low score, especially if it’s due to a thin credit record (ie, if the bureaus don’t have enough data on file for you).

What if I pay a different amount each month?

No problem. You might pay a slightly different amount each month if your utilities are included in your rent, or if you have to pay an additional fee to your landlord.

When will payments appear on my credit report?

Zego reports payments to LevelCredit within a week. LevelCredit then reports the payments to the credit bureaus on a monthly basis. Each bureau handles reported payments differently. The reported payments will appear on your credit report based on the bureaus’ processes, typically within a month.

How will payments appear on my credit report?

There will be a tradeline opened on your credit report, which appears as: RT/LEVELCREDIT.

What if there is an error on the payment data reported by LevelCredit to the credit bureaus?

Please refer all disputes and related inquiries to LevelCredit at: 612-808-5489  or https://www.levelcredit.com/contact.

When will I see an impact on my credit score if I participate in Lookback?

It depends. If no other rent payments have been reported to the credit bureaus yet, it can take up to 30 days for the bureaus to establish a new tradeline on your credit report. Once it is established, it will begin to impact your credit score. If you already have a rental tradeline for the address you purchased Lookback reporting, on average, it takes around 2 weeks for those payments to appear on your tradeline.

How much will my score change if I participate in Lookback?

Everyone's credit report is different and their credit score is subject to many factors. Since there are many variables that affect everyone's individual credit score, this value is not one we can easily predict. But remember, credit is all about demonstrating history. So, typically, the longer you have a rental tradeline on your credit report, the better. Adding Lookback reporting will extend the history of your rental payments up to 2 years from the date you add it to your rental tradeline.

Who is processing my payment?

Your Lookback purchase will be processed and reported by LevelCredit.

Is the fee for Lookback a one-time charge?

Yes! Lookback is a one-time charge and only needs to be purchased once for your lease on a specific rental property.

Can I purchase Lookback for a rental property that I’ve already moved out of?

No - Lookback can only be purchased for your current and active lease.
